Follow the calculation through layers
Use intermediate activations to compute a final output.
A forward pass computes outputs from inputs using the existing parameters. Later layers consume results from earlier layers. In this example, two ReLU units produce h₁ and h₂, then y=h₁+2h₂. No weight update is performed.
A manually configured two-layer example with fixed parameters. Calculate two intermediate units, then combine them. This is not automatic training or a complete LLM.
1. Input
x = 1
2. Intermediate layer
h₁=max(0,x+1)
h₂=max(0,1−x)

3. Output
y=h₁+2×h₂
